How Online Bidding Works
KHS can’t wait to bring the excitement and fun of Animal Krackers to you in the comfort of your own home!
The Silent and Live Auctions will be held in an online format this year. Below, take a look at the frequently asked questions about online bidding.
How to become an online bidder
- Register for the event by visiting our registration page.
- View our Online Bidding website to browse the auction packages.
- On the Online Bidding website, select “Start Bidding” in the upper right corner.
- Click "Create Account" and follow the prompts to create your bidding account. Creating an online bidding account is free but is required to bid on items and donate to the event online. Note: this is separate from your program registration.
- A confirmation email will be sent to your email to complete registration.
- You're ready to bid on all of the incredible auction items, donate to our Fund-A-Need, and start feeling all warm and fuzzy inside knowing you're helping shelter pets in need!

Navigating the bidding page
- Once you've logged in, scroll down to browse all the fabulous auction items. The ten one-of-a-kind live auction items will be displayed first. The live auction items open for bidding on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m. The silent auction items open for bidding on Monday, Oct. 12 at 12:00 p.m.
- To donate to the Fund-A-Need, click the "Donate Now" button.
- Click the ≡ button in the top left corner of the page to open the menu for Bids, Favorites, and Categories.
- Favorites - Use the star to save auction items for later viewing.
- Bids - See auction items that you have bid on already.
- Act Now - Sort auction items quickly by No Bids, Currently Open, and more.
- At the bottom of the page, you can also find a "Learn to Bid" (white gavel) icon. You can also watch this video for additional instruction.
How to place a bid
Once you've found an auction item you'd like to place a bid on, you have a few options:
- Bid - Bid the next pre-selected increment.
- Bid More - Bid more than the next increment or set your Max Bid!
- If using Max Bid, bidding will automatically continue in your favor until your max bid is reached or until the auction closes. If your bid is lower than than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.
- Buy - If this option is available, you can purchase the package for the price listed.
- If you are outbid, you will be notified via text message. You will also see a notification on your home screen.
- Note: A 4% Buyer's Premium will be applied to all silent and live auction items, to help cover credit card processing fees.
