Rescue. Rehabilitate. Rehome.

Kitsap Humane Society is a non-profit charitable organization that has been caring for animals in need since 1908. Our vision is that every adoptable companion animal has a home. We work toward that goal daily through the immediate care and sheltering of thousands of companion animals that are homeless, lost and in need of advocate.

My Story
This organization is doing an amazing job saving and rehoming thousands of pets and livestock. Located in a small rural county in western Washington, KHS is the little shelter that could -- and does!

KHS admits almost 5,000 animals per year
- mostly kittens, cats, puppies and dogs  - but I've also seen pigs, horses, sheep, chickens, rabbits, snakes (yikes!), doves, and one little hedgehog.  No animal is turned away.

Our "lives saved" rate is one of the highest in the U.S. at 94% - that means that none of these animals are euthanized unless they are beyond medical or behavioral help.  Animals have stayed with us for months, even years, before finding their forever homes. We are the little shelter that could - and does!

This is Daisy -  a border collie mix that Robert and I adopted last year.

I know many of you are animal lovers, too and have adopted your own pets.
Even if you don't live locally, you can help me make a difference in the lives of these animals.  Thank you so much for your help!

"Great communications and branding overall. You make it immediate, fun, important, and then by making it personal -- heck, why not support Kelly in what she's doing?"
