Kitsap Humane Society has been serving the residents of Kitsap County since 1908. Every year we provide immediate care and shelter to thousands of companion animals who are homeless, lost, ill, and in need of an advocate.  In 2010 alone we re-homed over 4,200 pets! Our spay and neuter program altered around 3,600 animals, helping to drastically reduce pet overpopulation. 

 

Our Mission Statement: The Kitsap Humane Society is an independent non-profit committed to providing positive life-changing solutions to people and companion animals. We do so by:

 Accepting, sheltering, and rehabilitating companion animals in need.

 Providing humane rescue, protection, prevention, adoption, and education services.

 Implementing progressive life-saving and life-affirming programs.

 Creatively collaborating and partnering with our region and supporters to build a model humane community.

 

 


 
Erin Moydell's Story

This is George! He came to KHS after being hit by a car. After many weeks of trying to save his leg, it had to be amputated. 

During his recovery he lived in our office. George touched my heart. He is one of the sweetest cats I've ever encountered. After a few days of awkwardness, he quickly became able to do almost anything a "normal" 4 legged kitty could. 

Thanks to KHS, George survived that car accident, and was adopted into a new family to live a full and happy life. 

Please help support this wonderful organization so that more stories of this kind can have as happy an ending as George's!
