Kitsap Humane Society has been serving the residents of Kitsap County since 1908. Every year we provide immediate care and shelter to thousands of companion animals who are homeless, lost, ill, and in need of an advocate.  In 2010 alone we re-homed over 4,200 pets! Our spay and neuter program altered around 3,600 animals, helping to drastically reduce pet overpopulation. 

 

Our Mission Statement: The Kitsap Humane Society is an independent non-profit committed to providing positive life-changing solutions to people and companion animals. We do so by:

 Accepting, sheltering, and rehabilitating companion animals in need.

 Providing humane rescue, protection, prevention, adoption, and education services.

 Implementing progressive life-saving and life-affirming programs.

 Creatively collaborating and partnering with our region and supporters to build a model humane community.

 

 


 

Our Story

If you know us, you know that we love animals, especially dogs and cats. Our dog, Laci, was adopted from an on-base shelter in Japan. She is a great companion, and we are so glad that she came into our life. After adopting her, we began to volunteer in animal shelters in hopes of helping those wonderful animals still in shelters find their second home. Soon we will be participating in the PetsWALK event, where we will be selling hand painted picture frames to fundraise money for the Kitsap Humane Society's animals.
