Team AgilityLabs's Story

My name is DeLaney and I'm 14 years old. I have two Labrador Retrievers, Lucy and Zoey. I love the KHS, they do so much for all the homeless animals, and I want to give back for what they do for others.

Whenever I see a dog or cat wandering, I do my best to safely catch them so I can find their owners. Although I am young, I can still make an impact in the lives of animals.

My first lab, Lucy, came from a local breeder. She turned out to be a great, loveable dog, and I am so greatful to have Lucy in my life. Lucy is a laid-back, beautiful old girl, who is youthful at heart. She doesn't have the drive of her "sister" but enjoys working for treats :) My younger dog, Zoey, didn't have such a great start in life. I "rescued (she was a spendy puppy)" Zoey from a litter of backayrd bred chocolate lab pups, where the pups were kept in a wooden box lined with newspaper, the mom chained to a dog house outside. Zoey smelled terrible, and was only 6 weeks when I brought her home. I would have never imagined a puppy with a not-so-great start to life would turn out to be such a loving, amazing companion, teacher, student, best friend, and daughter.

Zoey now knows over 120 commands, and also trains and competes in agility, canine freestyle, fly ball, retrieving, rally, obedience, 4H showmanship, and dock diving/water retrieval. This dog is TRULY amazing.

In additon to training my dogs, I also make and sell dog toys and healthy dog treats! All my dog toys are made out of fleece, and I braid them extra tough for those strong tuggers! I also make all sizes and styles of dog toys, from Papillon size to Tibetan Mastiff size! My treats' ingredients depend on the time of year, but I do have a bunch of fun shapes that you dog(s) will love! I may be at PetsWALK sellign my toys and treats this year, let's cross our fingers!

I would love to raise over $50 for the KHS, so please help me reach and/or exceed my goal!
